Bios Life Study Produces a Decreased Risk for Cardiovascular Disease in African Americans

Bios Life Study Produces a Decreased Risk for Cardiovascular Disease in African Americans

(August 16, 2007) As a first line defense against heart disease, 85 members of the Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roswell, Georgia participated in a three-month health project this spring to naturally optimize their cholesterol levels using Bios Life. The project was endorsed by Dr. William Cooper, Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services of Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital.

Each of the study participants added Bios Life to their diet, twice daily, for the 12-week duration of the health project. At the end of three months, participants that were at higher risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) successfully lowered their LDL (bad cholesterol) levels by an average of 19% and triglyceride levels by an average of 41%.

Participants further reduced their risk for heart disease by increasing their HDL (good cholesterol) levels by an average of 32%. Using risk calculations obtained from the Framingham Heart Study, participants in this study effectively decreased their 10 year risk of CVD by 36%.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), African Americans living in the southern region of the U.S. are at greatest risk for heart disease, the leading cause of death in the country.

The foremost risk factors for cardiovascular disease are high LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglyceride levels. The latest insights in lipid management, however, indicate that low HDL (good cholesterol) may be even more important in predicting CVD risk. The CDC Division of Heart Disease and Stroke prevention recommends controlling cholesterol as the most effective way to decrease risk for heart disease.

Conventional intervention focuses on lipid lowering medication, such as statins. These drugs are effective in lowering LDL, but have limited success for increasing HDL. Moreover, they have been linked to side-effects, such as liver and muscle problems. For many people, these side effects are a reason to look for safe clinically proven natural alternatives.

Bios Life provides a natural, side effect-free option for individuals who are at risk for heart disease and who are unable or unwilling to use statin medications for cholesterol control. Bios Life combines viscous soluble fiber, policosanol and phytosterols to safely optimize cholesterol by minimizing cholesterol absorption in the intestinal tract, regulating cholesterol created by the liver and enhancing enzymatic breakdown of cholesterol in the body.

Statin Drugs vs. Bios Life

Statin Drugs vs. Bios Life

The drugs used by doctors to treat high cholesterol are called statin medications and come with a long list of well-documented side effects. In fact, it is estimated that over 25% of the population cannot take statin medications because of their potential side effects.

Today billions of dollars are being spent by pharmaceutical drug companies to market statin medications, illustrating the size of this market. Because of the magnitude of the heart disease epidemic, the statin medications market is expected to exceed $30 billion in sales this year.

How many people do you believe would prefer a natural alternative to chemical medications? What if you had exclusive marketing rights to the only safe, natural, clinically proven alternative to statin medications?

Without question Bios Life is the most effective, all-natural alternative to statin medications for helping people reach and maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Not only is it equally effective as statins at lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol, it is also three times more effective at raising HDL (good) cholesterol.

The studies on Bios Life have gained the attention of the American Heart Association who wrote a press release on Bios Life educating their members on the benefits of Bios Life. Their members—the cardiologists of the world—are facing more and more demands from their patients who do not want the potentially dangerous side effects of chemical, pharmaceutical drugs.

Timing and Trends

Over the past ten years, public awareness about heart disease has continually increased. Everyday new studies and warnings headline our news outlets. Leading pharmaceutical companies have invested billions of dollars informing the public about the dangers of high cholesterol and the benefits cholesterol drugs (statins) provide. In fact, the world’s top selling prescription drugs are statins.

Why are these pharmaceutical companies investing so much? Because cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the world. In fact, CVD claims more lives each year than cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, lower respiratory diseases and accidents combined. The American Heart Association recently reported that more than 105 million people in the United States suffer from high cholesterol; more than 36 million have dangerously high levels of cholesterol. Cardiovascular disease is an epidemic.

The statin drug industry expects sales to exceed $30 billion this year. However, statin drugs come with a long list of well-documented side effects. The good news is Bios Life offers the only natural, safe, and clinically proven product of its type to effectively address these health concerns. And as more people search for natural, safe, alternatives to prescriptions the wellness industry is expected to exceed $1 trillion by 2010.

Our Franchise offers the right product at the right time with a built in market that is aware of the problem and looking for a better solution.
